Village of Minier Seasonal Maintenance Technician
The Village of Minier is accepting applications for a Seasonal Maintenance Technician within the Public Works Department.
This position performs a variety of outdoor maintenance, groundskeeping, and general labor duties to assist with the upkeep of Village parks, streets, properties, and public facilities. Work is performed under the direction of the Public Works Superintendent and senior department personnel.
Primary Duties Include: • Mowing, trimming, weed control, and general landscaping • Cleaning and maintaining parks, public restrooms, and Village properties • Operating mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and small equipment • Assisting with street maintenance, drainage work, and construction projects • Assisting full-time staff with general Public Works operations
Qualifications: • Must be at least 18 years of age • Valid Illinois driver’s license required • Ability to perform physical outdoor work in varying weather conditions • Ability to safely operate equipment and work independently • Prior experience in landscaping, construction, equipment operation, or maintenance is preferred but not required.
Schedule: • Approximately April through November • Four-day work week • Typical hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. • Schedule may vary depending on weather and operational needs
Additional Information: This is a seasonal, hourly non-exempt position. Employment is temporary in nature and does not exceed 1,000 hours within a 12-month period unless otherwise approved by the Village.
Compensation:
$16.00 to $18.00 based on qualifications and experience.
